Is Red Dead Redemption 2 Going to Live up to the Hype
There’s no doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be a pretty incredible game. This is especially true considering that its predecessor was an impressive game that created an even larger fanbase. Even the teasers from the game displayed the amazing graphics and smooth gameplay which players are sure to fall in love with as soon as they start playing the game. Although, despite the positive outlooks on the game, there are some players who are worried that the game is not going to live up to the hype, like how the horror game Agony went down. One of the main issues for fans who loved the first game are worried about is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is just not going to be as bold and exciting as the first.
The Original Red Dead Redemption
The first game of the series came out nearly a decade ago in 2010. It was developed by Rockstar, the company known famously for the GTA series. Though despite how successful the GTA series was, it could be said that the gameplay, the mechanics, and the storylines were fun yet a bit lacklustre in a sense as well.
However, when Red Dead Redemption came out, it combined the excitement of GTA as well as adding additional features which made it feel more real than anything else. Even from the NPC who seemed more lifelike rather than just being target practice. Along with making the world feel realistic, the game improved the shooting by making each gun unique, easy to aim, and almost gave the players the feeling of shooting a real gun in the wild west.
Beyond the gameplay and mechanics, the storyline was what made the game truly fantastic. The protagonist was flawed but filled with a sympathy that many players could relate to. John Marston, the main protagonist of the game, was on a life or death mission to save his family which includes taking down the former gang he used to ride with. Although, as the story progresses, you begin to see that he truly is a violent man that is trying to right his wrongs and protect the people he loves the most. To put it simply, the first game was iconic and created a story that was excellent for the time.
The Second Game Doesn’t Look as Groundbreaking
The upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 looks too like the first game. While it is based in the same time era where cowboys where the norm and the dangers of the wild west are real, something about the stunning graphics and teasers has made players worried that the game will feel more like an outdated version of the first but without an interesting storyline. While the game still hasn’t been released yet, many players are worried that Red Dead Redemption 2 is just going to become a prequel that will never live up to the greatness of the first.
